Aeration and Overseeding

Just as we love fresh air, our lawns love it, too. Aeration is the process by which cores are pulled from the ground to improve air flow and reduce water runoff. A few other benefits are an enhanced root system for the lawn due to the looser soil and an increased drought tolerance due to better water retention.

Aeration service is most successful when completed in the fall after the heat breaks between September and November or when performed in the early spring. We use Gateway Green tall fescue for all of our overseeing. This seed blend is specifically designed for the Saint Louis area. Lastly we have the best aeration equipment money can buy which results in a quality job with proper depth aeration plugs vs a cheaper machine that is not as effective. For example renting a machine from a hardware store or hiring a contractor that uses a smaller and cheaper walk behind unit will not be as effective. Give your lawn the care it craves this year with aeration and over-seeding.
